Six noblemen did venture out and tackle ye flooded lanes of the Caldicot levels and did see Harold's field in the parish of Portskewett before making haste up past Caldicot and up the steep climbs of Vinegar Hill. Onward they went against the foulest of winds that blew across the levels before making their way past the place that makes steel for the best swords, Llanwern. Unto the railway bridge did they duck under before riding quickly through Underwood and then to the hill of ye small hamlet of of LLandevaud. Never did they stop along the roman road called the A48 into the roman stronghold of Caerwent before making their way back to their families in the walled city of Chepstow!
